THE KENSINGTON HOTEL

The Kensington, 4 Star Hotel.

About the hotel

There’s a sense, on being welcomed through the double-framed doors of The Kensington hotel by a bowler-hatted doorman, of stepping back in time to a more genteel, service-oriented age. Certainly, the hotel’s luxurious white stucco façade – a collection of four 19thcentury townhouses in this most chic, cosmopolitan and cultured of London neighbourhoods – and the Victorian grandeur of its high ceilings, heritage décor and open fireplaces evoke something of a bygone era.

Yet just as vivid is an immediate sense of vibrant, contemporary confidence that emanates from the modern yet understated design. Here London society comes together – be it for afternoon tea in the light and lively drawing rooms, cocktails in the glamorous K Bar, or dinner in the refined Townhouse restaurant. Throughout this engaging environment, the attentive, familiar staff of The Kensington hotel provide the personal welcome.

Deluxe Room, 1 Queen Bed

A day exploring London’s multiple attractions can leave even the most energetic in need of a touch of R&R. You’ll find it in spades in the Deluxe rooms, which provide that inner calm and confidence that comes with stylish living – that serene feeling of being cosseted away in comfort, with everything you need to hand. The bold décor found across the hotel is particularly vivid in the Deluxe rooms (270ft2/ 25m2), no two of which are the same. Cue statement headboards, old-style bedside tables, and slate bathroom walls against an opulent palette of golds, creams and heritage shades. As with all rooms, guests can expect bath robes and slippers, heated bathroom floor, mini-bar, a media hub with universal adaptors, and Nespresso machine
